Irish horse Another Jewel wins the Prix Anjou-Loire Challenge
Irish horse Another Jewel, trained by Denis Paul Murphy and co-owned by his mother Catherine Murphy and Frank Magee, made history by becoming the first foreign trained horse to win the Prix Anjou-Loire Challenge.  The victory in the fourth race of the Crystal Cup series catapults the trainer, from Co Wexford in Ireland, to the top of the leader board in the 2010 Crystal Cup Challenge.

The next race in the series is the €100,000 ING Grand Steeple Chase of Flanders at Waregem in Belgium on August 31st

Enda Bolger trained horses finish 1st & 2nd at Punchestown
L'Ami, the 13/8 favourite ridden by J T McNamara, came with a well timed run to win the third leg of the Crystal Cup at Punchestown, stable mate  Freneys Well, ridden by Nina Carberry finished second.  Both horses were trained by cross country specialist Enda Bolger and are owned by J P McManus.

Trainer Jerome Follain wins the Grand Steeple-Chase Cross Country de Fontainebleau with Oke Prince  

Oke Prince was ridden to victory in the second leg of the Crystal Cup by Anthony Thierry. Ni Plus Ni Moins, trained by P Journiac finished 2nd and Quick Babe also trained by Jerome Follain was 3rd.

Malberaux wins the first Crystal Cup race at Pau for trainer Philippe Cottin

Malberaux won the first race of the Crystal Cup series for 2010, the Prix Gaston de Bataille, at Pau on 7th February.  The 7yr old was trained by Philippe Cottin and ridden by his son, David Cottin, France's Champion Jump jockey.  Thou in Gold (PH Peltier) was 2nd and Quoquo de Chalon (J Ortet) 3rd.
